Course Description

The Securing Cisco Networks with Snort Rule Writing Best Practices (SSFRules)  course shows you how to write rules for Snort, an open-source intrusion detection and prevention system. Through a combination of expert-instruction and hands-on practice, this course provides you with the knowledge and skills to develop and test custom rules, standard and advanced rules-writing techniques, how to integrate OpenAppID into rules, rules filtering, rules tuning, and more. The hands-on labs give you practice in creating and testing Snort rules.

Course Objectives

Upon completing this course, the learner will be able to meet these overall objectives:

  • Describe the Cisco UCS B-Series architecture, installation, and configuration, and the processes and tools for determining related issues
  • Describe troubleshooting processes on the standalone Cisco UCS C-series
  • Describe the valid Cisco UCS C-Series integrated architecture and the process of determining issues related to integration of Cisco UCS C-Series server with Cisco UCS Manager.

Course Conditions and Fees

Prerequisites:

  • Basic understanding of networking and network protocols
  • Basic knowledge of Linux command-line utilities
  • Basic knowledge of text editing utilities commonly found in Linux
  • Basic knowledge of network security concepts
  • Basic knowledge of a Snort-based IDS/IPS system

Our prices are in Euros and don’t include VAT/tax.

Fees   2.400,00 € include:  Live instructors’ presentations at our facilities, course material ( Cisco official Kits) and CLP Certificate of course completion. 

Transport, accommodation, meals and other supplementary expenses are not included in the training fees.
